Money is an important part of our lives. So now I’m going to tell you about some words related to money.
Part 01 — Basic words
01. Earnings — the amount of money someone obtains in return for his or her service or labor.
Raj:- Good morning sir, I would like to get some advice on how can I manage my money.
Manager: — Good morning. Sure! What are your current ways of earning?
02. Save — keep some money to use in the future.
Raj:- I’m not working right now but I’m joining a company next month.
Manager: — congratulations! The sooner you start to save, you can save better.
03. Spend — give money as a payment for something
04.Bank- the place where we can invest and borrow money
Raj:-how can I save my money?
Manager:- Raj, you can save your money in our bank. at the same time, you should be careful about how much you spend.
05. ATM- machine from which we can make money from our bank account using a bank card.
Raj:-Ok sir, I want to open a bank account.
Manager:- Sure you can do it right now. You can also get an ATM card for your new account and it will be easier when you want to spend money.
06. Make money- earn a lot of money from an investment or from a job
or in another way we can say as gaining a profit over and over.
Raj: — That will be great.
Manager: — you can also make money if you invest in mutual funds.
07.Cost- the amount of money needed to buy something.
Raj:- Can you help me with that?
Manager: — yes, we have some good investment plans that don't cost too much.
Raj: -Great Sir! Thank you.
Part 02 — Verbs related to Money
as we deal with money every day it is useful to know these verbs related to money.
This means we need to give back some money to a person from whom we borrowed or to a place from where we borrowed. Simply we are bound to give money back.
Example 01:- How much do I owe you for the dinner?
Example 02:- It is vital to pay back the money you owe.
02. Borrow money
Borrowing money means taking and using someone`s money with a plan to give it back later.
Example 01:- If you want to borrow money, just let me know and I will help you.
Example 02:- Can I borrow ten thousand rupees from you?
Lending money is giving money to someone and that person has to return it later. this is the opposite of borrow.
Example 01:- Kasim wouldn`t lend us money this month.
Example 02:-Normally banks will not lend money to people with bad credit history.
This is a negative verb which means using money on unnecessary things.
Example 01:- Nimal always spends his money without thinking properly. He wastes his money.
Example 02:-You shouldn`t waste money on unnecessary luxuries.
05. Inherit Money
Inherit means receiving money or property from someone who has died.
Example 01:- Shriya inherited her grandfather`s house after he died.
Example 02:-At the death of sheila`s father her mother will inherit the money.
