Take is one of the phrasal verbs in the English Language (Phrasal verbs are phrases that indicate actions). Here I`m going to tell you about some new phrases that use the word “Take”.

01. Take it as it comes.

This idiom means without planning ahead we deal with something in the way it happens.

Example:- I am not going to plan anything for the future. I am going to take it as it comes.

02. Take it or leave it.

This idiom used to say that you have no choice, you can either accept it or reject it.

Example: — There`s no negotiation possible. Take it or leave it.

03. Take it from me.

This phrase is used when advising someone strongly. It says as “Believe me or accept what I say because I know/I have experienced about this”.

Example:- Take it from me. This property is going to be the best investment in 5 years.

04. Take it up.

Taking something up is beginning with something new.

Example:- If you like music so much why don`t you take it up by learning an instrument?

05. Take it back.

Taking back something you have given, sold or offered.

Example:- Take it back or you will regret later.

06. Take you out.

When you say “ I want to take you out”, it means taking someone to dinner or movie or something special.

Example:- I`m going to take you out for dinner tonight.

07. Take after him.

If you take after someone you resemble(Copying to be similar) someone in appearance or character.

Example:- I knew your father, you definitely take after him.

Raj: — Hi Harsh!

Harsh: — Hi Raj! Your son has grown and he takes after you.

Raj: — oh yes! That`s true,

Harsh: — I needed your advice on my new job offer. should I take it or leave it?

Raj: — Is it because you are soon to become a father?

Harsh: — Exactly! I applied for this job long ago you see and I don`t wish to take it up anymore

Raj: — Don't worry it`s not like you have accepted the job.

Harsh: — Right. I can take it back. I hope they don`t find this unprofessional.

Raj: — How is the job market like?

Harsh: — It is pretty tough. I have been there. Take it from me.

Raj: — I planned to switch jobs too and have applied at a few places

Harsh: — oh! you will be fine! Take it as it comes.

Raj: — Sure. Thanks for your advice.
